I’m always looking for the next challenge. I’ve run 5 marathons, a 50-mile marathon, a couple of Half-Ironman triathlons and an Ironman Triathlon (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run). Now with Race To Read, I hope to accomplish even more. I will be tackling the world’s longest non-stop river race – the MR-340. And using the opportunity to raise money to help Nativity of Mary grade school in Independence, Missouri purchase the Scholastic Reading Inventory software for the school. Send me an email with your sponsorship level. And check back to track my progress. Thanks for your support. – Lohn Weber

16 Hours to the Start of the Race
Well here we are 16 hours until race time. There are 274 boats in the race and 102 of them in the Men's Solo Division. My stomach started twisting in knots yesterday as I sorted out the food in bags for the different stages, mixed the sports drink in gallon jugs, packed the water jugs into the cooler, and cleaned out the back of the truck to make room for a mattress and coolers. Tonight is the safety meeting, the official check-in for the race and then off to bed, if possible. Thank you to all those who have sponsored Nativity of Mary School. You have raised over $4,000 which accomplishes the goal to purchase reading software for the upcoming school year. A special thanks to Dan Salva who created this Blog site and will update it with check point times throughout the race. Thank you in advance for your encouragement and prayers. I am going to need them all!
